Founded in 2007 and headquartered in London, Angel’s Den is one of Europe's largest and longest-established angel networks, distinguished by its unique 'angel-led' investment model. Co-founded by Bill Morrow and Lois Cook, the platform has grown into a significant player in early-stage investing, boasting a network of over 21,000 angel investors worldwide. The current CEO, Abhilasha Dafria, appointed in 2021, continues to build on this legacy, emphasizing rigorous selection and high-quality deal flow.

What makes Angels Den particularly notable to founders is its distinctive lead-investor model. Unlike typical crowdfunding platforms, every deal listed on Angels Den is anchored by a lead angel investor. These lead angels not only invest their own money first, but also actively participate in due diligence, providing a stamp of credibility and confidence intended to attract other investors.

Angels Den doesn't limit itself to equity investments alone, but also offers debt and revenue-share options, providing flexibility for founders depending on their needs. While the network covers diverse sectors, its portfolio has a particular emphasis on tech-enabled startups with scalable business models.  Companies that have raised through the network include Vidsy, Moteefe, Mallzee, E Fundamentals (acquired in 2022), and Fat Llama, which achieved a notable exit with its acquisition by Hygglo in 2022.

Founders seeking investment through Angels Den should come prepared with more than just a good idea—they need demonstrable traction, a market-tested product or service, and typically eligibility for SEIS/EIS. The process can move quickly once an anchor investor is secured, often concluding within a few weeks or months from initial pitch to investment completion. Typical funding rounds range from around £100K to £1 million, and the average start-up valuation at investment typically ranges from £1–4 million.

Beyond investment, founders report positively about the value-added support from Angels Den investors, who often provide mentorship, industry connections, and ongoing engagement. Testimonials highlight the professionalism, efficiency, and genuinely supportive attitude of the Angels Den team, illustrating that the network is hands-on yet respectful, actively contributing to the startup's journey without seeking to control operations.
